I read this news a few days ago, but I believe this is info still worth reading. I read on this site that Indonesia 2008 per capita income is increased by 24%. Currently it is US$2,271 in 2008 from US$1,942 in 2007. Take note that in 2004, the country’s per capita income is still US$1,186.2.

In 2007, Indonesia’s GDP based on constant prices of 2000 reached Rp2,082.1 trillion, head of the central bureau of Statistics Rusman Heriawan said.

I just realized that even though this site is talking about Indonesia with Batam with its specialty, I always assume that everybody know what Batam is, or know where its location, etc etc.

But I never post a picture of Batam island !

I feel kind of arrogant to think everybody knows where Batam is :D

So to discard that feelings, I will post some picture of Batam. Starts with its map ! and it’s free !!

Banks: Bigger credit portion for Indonesia Micro Small and Medium Business in 2009

taken from http://www.inilah.com/

taken from http://www.inilah.com/

I read on Kompas Newspaper that Indonesian Banks shall make bigger portion of ther credit loan in 2009 to Micro Small and Medium Business (Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah – UMKM). This is already start to be materialized starting on Dec 2008, which the UMKM credit reach 48.5% from total credit loan distribution, compared to 47.6% in Nov 08.

This action is taken since the Banks considered the UMKM is tougher compared to big corporate company with regards to global economy crisis. In the last economic crisis that hit Indonesia in 1998, many big companies has severely hit by the crisis and filled bankruptcy, so it makes the credit for corporate sector went bad.

In the other hand, UMKM is proven to be crisis-proof since they easily adapt to changes on business landscape due to their small size and flexibility. UMKM also do have not much interaction with modern financial system that is found today to be fragile.

According the survey of emerging markets, Indonesia 2009 economic growth projection is still considered to be high, even higher than other South East Asia (SEA) countries like Malaysia and Thailand. Indonesia growth is projected to be in 3rd after China and India. This is according to Chief Economist BNI, Tony Prasetiantono that I read it on Batam Pos Newpaper.

In the other side, other countries in Asia like South Korea, Taiwan, Hongkong, and Singapore is projected to have minus economic growth. So compared to those countries, Indonesia then shall be considered very attractive to foreign investor.

taken from http://www.creativenonfiction.org

There is not so many books that influence my life. Even though I am an intense book reader since childhood, actually there is not much books that I can said to be very meaningful to me.

In early childhood. I read books from Enid Blyton (Famous Five, ect), Herge’s Tintin and also Asterix comic :) . Very typical childhood for someone lives in Indonesia :)

In my life as teenager, I start to read Agatha Christie’s mystery Novel. Those books still amazed me up to now. Classic never dies!

Then during college years, other reading the text book (that usually used text books since I can not afford to buy a new one :( ), I also try to read different books from many topics. Until that time, usually I just read the books that interested me, but on those years, I start to read any books at all. Yes, that’s right ! Any books !
It help me a lot to open my mind to many aspect of life.

Is it really wise to change the Company Management in Economy crisis like this?

taken from http://www.cartoonstock.com

taken from http://www.cartoonstock.com

If you are the owner of the company, like everything that matters to you, you shall always look for ways to make your company develop further. You shall always expect that the management that you hired can make the company grows and make the profits, which is better than last year.

But in time like this, where the economy goes downwards, this goal can sometimes like reaching stars in the sky.

I must admit this situation can make some the owner goes like cat in the bathtub. In the event of slow economy, company owners still expect that the management can do better or at least bring same result as the management brought last year. They just want the result. Good result.

Is it OK? Of course it is Ok. They have abselutely have every right to do it as the company owner.

So what happen if the management fails to bring the result as the owner wanted? The owner can just fired the new management and bring new “blood” in :)

Company : When is it the best time to loan the money ?

Taken from http://www.paydayloanplanet.com

Taken from http://www.paydayloanplanet.com

In the global economy crisis like this, many companies facing additional burden in maintaining their existance than the already stressful day-to-day business matters. The demand of lower cost is always in the air, but such request also come in demand for longer payment period.

Can you imagine that? Higher output with highest quality you can produce but with slow incoming cash? Yup! The company cashflow is bleeding. In my view, such condition can make life very difficult for the one who run the company. In such perspective, I do not feel envy towards the company management :)
