1st South Sulawesi Corn Export to Philipine

I read on Kompas Newspaper that on 14 Feb 09, the collaboration of PT Agrico International, PT Chaeron Pokphand Indonesia and South Sulawesi government has exported 6,300 tons of corn produced on the area to Philippine. The shipment that intended for cattle’s food in Philippines has a value of US$ 1.15 Million.

According to exporter, the world demand of corn seed is currently increasing since now the other countries which produced corn currently switching the export of corn for cattle’s food into material for biofuel industry. As a result, the corn price in international market has increased to US$ 182 per ton.
