I read on this site that Indonesia Information Minister, M Nuh, called on Indonesian public on 16 Feb 09 to buy domestic product in IT sectors including computers and laptops. This movement is to enhance the domestic purchasing and consumption of IT product in Indonesia that currently dominated by imported products.

This movement also to optimize the consumer basis in Indonesia itself since other countries that used to be served as target consumers also facing difficulties due to world economy crisis. Then he added that efforts to increase use of domestic products were acts of safeguarding the nation’s economy.
