Since the launch of BBK FTZ in early Q1 2009 by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, there is already 18 new Foreign Investment that came to this area with total value of US$ 16 Millions in the periode of Jan-Mar 09.

According to BP Batam official, Rustam Hutapea, in Jan 2009 there is 7 Foreign Investment and 1 Foreign enhancement project (total investment value of US$ 6.25 Millions) and it is expected to absorb more than 550 local workforce.
