This event, which is called as Sail Banda 2010 shall be held in Banda, Central Maluku Indonesia. According to Alex Retraubun, director general of coastal area and small island affairs at the maritime and fisheries ministry, said that “The Banda Islands are known worldwide for their historical significance and undersea natural beauty, and therefore Maluku will host Sail Banda 2010“. Previously, Muhammadiyah and NU (two largest Islamic organization in Indonesia) also already mentioned that Eid Ul-Fitri shall falls on Sunday, 20 Sep 09. Confirmation is being made so that the figure will not be less than that,” the minister said after visiting the Cipinang Rice Wholesale Market here on Monday, 14 Sep 09 The minister said he had received a report that there was a stock surplus of one million tons but his ministry would still confirm the report. In the meantime, Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said that the urea fertilizer export plan would be carried out at the end of the year. “Usually it is done before the end of the year to anticipate the planting season and other things,” she said. Minister Apriantono said recently that the quantity of fertilizer that could be exported and the time frame for the export were still being discussed. “Just wait for it. We stll need to coordinate the matter with other ministries in the first place,” he said.

Continue reading »  Indonesian Sea Radar pic-taken from http://www.technologyindonesia.com/ I read on this site a couple of days ago, that in Indonesian official recently announced the released of Indonesian Sea Radar (shorten as ISRA), a radar for sea and air transportation, weather observation, area mapping and navigation. This radar is an invention from 20 Indonesian researchers at LIPI (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia). From the news, it is even said that the radar can be use for military purpose such as target-locking and missile guidance tools. But for me, the most interesting point not only because it works as a proof that Indonesian researcher can make such high-tech and precise equipments and as it can boost Indonesia capability to make any strategic facilities. But also because it is said that Indonesia is the only country in South East Asia which capable to make the Radar! Imagine that !! Indonesia is the only one who can make such powerful equipment in South East Asia. Isn’t it make us proud to be Indonesian? Here is some of the highlights : Inflation rate (Aug 09):
- On Aug 09, inflation rate is 0.56 percent and Customer Price Index (CPI) is 115.25. From 66 cities across Indonesia, 63 cities are having inflation while 3 cities are having deflation.
- The highest inflation happened in Manokwari (2.00 percent – CPI 130.26) and the lowest inflation happened in Singkawang (0.03 percent – CPI 117.77).
- The highest deflation rate happened in the city of Sorong (0.76 percent – CPI 134.01), while the lowest deflation rate happened in Palembang (0.14 percent – CPI 116.27).
- Inflation rate on this year (Jan- Aug 09) is measured as 1.22 percent, while the year-on-year inflation rate (Aug 08 – Aug 09) is recorded as 2.75 percent. Continue reading »  Preparation of Break fasting pic - taken from http://cache.eb.com/eb/ After I am publishing the post about All year Ramadan Calendar, I noticed there is visitor who came to my blog through google using keywords such as “ time to eat in Ramadan“, “ time to eat and drink in Ramadan“, “ exact time to eat in Ramadan“, “ When can they eat dring ramadan?”, “ When can you eat during ramadan?”, “ What time do you eat at ramadan?”, “ When can they eat during Ramadan?”, “ What time do you eat for ramadan?“, “ What time can you eat on ramadan?“, “ What is the best thing to eat in ramadan?“, and many other variations of those keywords that mainly the intention is to find out what time do we allowed to eat/drink during the Holy Ramadan Month. There are even visitors of that posting that leave a comment and asking that question. Still bewildered, I am replying to that comment and also send an email, and still left wondering. Why ? First, I think that is such a funny and even strange question to be asked since if you are a moslem and you are about to fast in this Islamic Ramadan month, then I thought you should know already the answer of that question. It never occurred to me (as I was born and live in country that considered by many as the biggest moslem country in the world, Indonesia) that there are people out there who maybe just introduced to the Islam religion or faith and they do not have someone who can guide them answering the questions they may have during this fasting period of this holy month, Ramadan.
