Preparation of Break fasting pic - taken from http://cache.eb.com/eb/
Why ?
First, I think that is such a funny and even strange question to be asked since if you are a moslem and you are about to fast in this Islamic Ramadan month, then I thought you should know already the answer of that question. It never occurred to me (as I was born and live in country that considered by many as the biggest moslem country in the world, Indonesia) that there are people out there who maybe just introduced to the Islam religion or faith and they do not have someone who can guide them answering the questions they may have during this fasting period of this holy month, Ramadan.
It is then my close friend who put me back into that perspective. He assist me to put myself on the shoes of people who never before have fasting in their life during Ramadan. Even put me on the shoes of of those people where they live in the country which moslem community is rare. And then that visualization hits me in the face.
THERE ARE people who really do not know the answer of that question and they do not have someone close by who they can asked. That is why they turn their attention to Google!
I thank greatly to Allah SWT that provide me an opportunity to help my fellow Islamic brothers and sisters around the world. So even though my knowledge in Islam is also limited, I will try my best to help them.
So the answer of the question of “when is the time to eat or drink during Ramadan?”, I would answer that generally you are allowed to do that from Maghrib praying time until Subuh praying time.
So since the Sholat or prayer time is different depending on the area where you live, you should know the prayer (Shalat) time/schedule for your area during Ramadan. If you do not know it yet, you can refer to this posting. There you can find the complete time-table / schedule time for prayer (shalat) during holy month of Ramadan (Ramadhan).
So I hope above posting can help my fellow brothers and sister who seek the answer of question “When is the time to eat or drink during Ramadan?” and I pray to Allah SWT that our fasting and other pratices during this holy Ramadan is welcomed by Allah SWT. Ameen.
