Indonesian Statistic figures - Aug and Jul 09

Central Statistic Bureau of Indonesia (BPS) just recently released some Indonesian Economy statistics numbers for Aug 09 and July 09. Here is some of the highlights :

Inflation rate (Aug 09):
- On Aug 09, inflation rate is 0.56 percent and Customer Price Index (CPI) is 115.25. From 66 cities across Indonesia, 63 cities are having inflation while 3 cities are having deflation.
- The highest inflation happened in Manokwari (2.00 percent - CPI 130.26) and the lowest inflation happened in Singkawang (0.03 percent - CPI 117.77).
- The highest deflation rate happened in the city of Sorong (0.76 percent - CPI 134.01), while the lowest deflation rate happened in Palembang (0.14 percent - CPI 116.27).
- Inflation rate on this year (Jan- Aug 09) is measured as 1.22 percent, while the year-on-year inflation rate (Aug 08 - Aug 09) is recorded as 2.75 percent.


Export-Import (Jul 09):
- Indonesia’s export value reach US$ 9.65Billions, a 2.85 percent increased from Jun 09. If compared to same period last year, it is a decreased by 22.98 percent.
- From Jan - Jul 09, Indonesia’s export value reach US$ 59.72Billions, a decreased by 27.98 percent from the same period last year.
- Indonesia’s import value reach US$ 8.69Billions, a 9.48 percent increased from Jun 09.
- From Jan - Jul 09, Indonesia’s import value reach US$ 50.07Billions, a decreased by 35.83 percent from the same period in 2008.

International Tourist visit (Jul 09)
- The visit of International tourist to Indonesia reaches 593.400 people or an increased by 7.78 percent in Jul 09. If compared to the same period in 2008, it is also an increased by 4.59 percent.
- From Jan - Jul 09, the number of foreign tourist that visiting to Indonesia has reached 3.56 millions, an increased by 2.56 percent from the same period last year.

Well, looks to me that even though there are decreasing numbers, the Indonesia Economy still on the good and positive trend tracks. Hopefully, the Indonesian economy statistics for the following months shall continue to get better.
