Inflation rate (Oct 09):
- On Oct 09, inflation rate is 0.19 percent and Customer Price Index (CPI) is 116.68. From 66 cities across Indonesia, 45 cities are having inflation while 21 cities are having deflation.
- The highest inflation happened in Padang (1.78 percent – CPI 119.82) and the lowest inflation happened in Depok (0.05 percent – CPI 115.49).
- The highest deflation rate happened in the Banda Aceh (1.30 percent – CPI 117.32), while the lowest deflation rate happened in Madiun (0.02 percent – CPI 120.06).
- Inflation rate on this year (Jan- Oct 09) is measured as 2.48 percent, while the year-on-year inflation rate (Oct 08 – Oct 09) is recorded as 2.57 percent.
Export-Import (Sep 09):
- Indonesia’s export value reach US$ 9.83Billions, a 6.75 percent decreased from Aug 09. If compared to same period last year, it is a decreased by 19.92 percent.
- From Jan – Sep 09, Indonesia’s export value reach US$ 80.13 Billions, a decreased by 25.57 percent from the same period last year.
- Indonesia’s import value reach US$ 8.56Billions, a 11.79 percent decreased from Augl 09.
- From Jan – Sep 09, Indonesia’s import value reach US$ 68.33 Billions, a decreased by 32.80 percent from the same period in 2008.
International Tourist visit (Sep 09):
- The visit of International tourist to Indonesia reaches 493.000 people or an decreased by 12.88 percent from Aug 09. If compared to the same period in 2008, it is also a decreased by 1.44 percent.
- From Jan – Sep 09, the number of foreign tourist that visiting to Indonesia has reached 4.62 millions, an increased by 1.07 percent from the same period last year.

Well, looks like the number is decreasing. But even though we have some lower figures from last month, for me it seems that Indonesian economy is still on the right track and and continue to have positive trends. I just hope this positives trend shall continue further and the Indonesian economy statistics for the following months shall get better and better.



A great question, I must say.
Someone rightly said that statistics can be used to prove anything and no one has been able to use this powerful tool as brilliantly as the Communist government in Indonesia.
Mostly other nations try to compare those statistics which concern both the nations, like trade surplus. The communist government in Indonesia is in a habit of reporting lower figure of trade surplus and this makes everyone suspicious.
