As the Monaco Qualifying session got underway for a second time, it was Alonso who rose to the top after a handful of drivers had set hot laps on the Super Soft tyre. Sebastian Vettel ended the session in fourth after leading early on, while team-mate Mark Webber set a time worthy of seventh place. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) scored yet another pole on Saturday in a F1 Monaco qualifying session dominated by a serious accident for Sergio Perez. You can refer below for the F1 Monaco Qualification result.
After Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) crashed at the exit of the tunnel in the morning practice session, Perez did the same in the final qualifying session, but crashed heavily into a barrier and had to be extracted from his car by paramedics. Button will start Sunday’s race alongside Vettel on the front row, while the second row will be made up of last year’s winner Mark Webber (Red Bull-Renault) and Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), followed by Michael Schumacher (Mercedes) and Felipe Massa (Ferrari).
2009 world champion Jenson Button (McLaren-Mercedes) went to the top of the lap chart with a 1’17.059 before being deposed by team mate and 2008 champion, Lewis Hamilton (1’16.321), but Button came straight back on the next lap to go 0.4 sec quicker.
Nine minutes into the session, Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) joined the party after his mechanics had completed rebuilding the car that he crashed in the morning session. Pirelli, the sole tyre supplier, brought soft and super-soft compounds to this race, with the latter making its first appearance at a race this year.
