The Montreal race on Canadian Grand Prix always throws up a terrific show, and round seven of the 2011 calendar is no exception. After his Monaco nightmare, Lewis Hamilton, who already trails championship leader Sebastian Vettel by 58 points, will be keen to make his victory on Canadian soil. And the Briton has done pretty well here winning his maiden grand prix back in 2007, and climbing to victory in 2010. But will he be able to stop the reigning world champion? You won’t need me to tell you that Vettel has won five of the opening six races this season.
Anyway, here is pole position for 2011 Canadian Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel claimed his sixth pole position of the season in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso is on the second place, while Felipe Massa was on third pole position. The Spaniard was just two tenths adrift of Vettel’s pole time. Mark Webber was fourth fastest on qualification round. Hamilton and Jenson Button had to settle for fifth and seventh place
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner commented: “Sebastian had a phenomenal drive. Paul di Resta missed moving into the crucial qualifying segment by 0.3 seconds, but the Force India driver once again outpaced his team-mate, Adrian Sutil.
The German driver finished 14th, whilst Pedro de la Rosa, who has replaced the ill Sauber driver, Sergio Perez, came home in 17th position in his first qualifying of the season in 2011 Canadian Grand Prix.
