iPod Touch is in again. At least it is now on the buzz again. And why is that ? Maybe because all the hype thing about tablet, some people do miss the simplicity of iPod.
As you may know the iPod Touch is a portable media player, personal digital assistant, handheld game console, and Wi-Fi mobile device designed and marketed by Apple Inc. The iPod Touch adds the multi-touch graphical user interface to the iPod line. It is the first iPod with wireless access to the iTunes Store, and also has access to Apple’s App Store, enabling content to be purchased and downloaded directly on the device. As of March 2011, Apple has sold over 60 million iPod Touch units.
There are a lot of product line after iPod Touch. iPhone 5, iPad mini. iPhone 5, iPad mini. But, a couple of Apple analysts said the company could retire the iPod Touch name and reposition the device as the smallest of three versions of the iPad. For starters, the iPod Touch fits naturally into the role. In 2007, before the iPhone took off, iPod sales made up 34 percent of Apple’s sales. If Apple made the iPod Touch an iPad, it could treat the iPod category as what it is: a slowing market on auto-pilot. The iPod Touch sells for $199 to $399, while the full-sized iPad sells for $499 to $829. That doesn’t leave much room for the rumored mini iPad, so Apple might need to charge less for the iPod-turned-iPad.
In other news, I read an article about interesting gadget for your iPod Touch. One gadget called Morpcase can turn your iPod touch intoa an iPhone. MorphCase is does not try to be a full fledged 3G/4G case for the iPod touch which would let you make calls using wireless data services, such as the FreedomPop jacket, that comes with its own data plan with 4G connectivity and a $100 price tag. MorphCase connects to your iPod touch through the standard audio jack and eliminates the need for a dedicated headset to make and receive calls, allowing you to use your iPod touch in exactly the same way you would use an iPhone, around a Wi-Fi connected area.
Well, as more and more gadgets are design to suitafor iPhone and iPod Touch, it seems like iPod Touch is really an interesting gadget!
